Ever wondered what would happen if Judaism, Rap and Reggae fused?

Matisyahu is Haddistic Jew from New York. He breaks all stereotypic judgements and draws on his faith for inspiration in tandem with Bob Marley - a fantastic combination.

Lead up to Chrimbo

...So it took me 6 hours to get home today from Oxford due to the tsunami of snow that has hit Britain. Despite my fears of develping frostbite and watching my toes drop off one by one, I enjoyed the experience; I felt like a lone ranger on a mission to return to my homeland, which added a bit of glamour to the situation.

* The following is said in the style of a Male American Movie voiceover:* One girl, moving south to find her family in the face adversity: 6 inches deep. The London Underground and National Rail: the only powers that stand in her path. That, and the disaster of split jeans occuring 1/3rd of the way through the journey (when bending down to pick up a random child's fallen glove.)

Anyway, after said mission I ate a lot of nice food, patted my belly in contentment and mulled on December so far.

What's good:

No. 1 - Rare exports: a christmas tale
A Finnish film that is bizarre, terrifying and hilarious, all at the same time. After watching Rare Exports, I don't know whether I can say it is good or not but the film is certainly different and worth a watch.

No. 2 - Jamie Oliver Mince Pies:

An incredible recipe that creates abnormal mince pies. I make them without any of the extra berries (just the mincemeat) and they still manage to taste Vundabar.

No. 3 - Mulled Wine: the ultimate festive drink.
I desribe this as a boomerang beverage: with one swoop it fulfills many requistits: 1) a hearty drink that renders all merry, 2) it fragrances your Kitchen (or entire house in my case) and 3) its a cool twists to an already great drink.
